Luminaria
GLASS ALLEY at Luminaria 2012
March 10, 2012
“Glass Alley” is a coalition of San Antonio cultural groups sharing one burning passion: the celebration of Glass, Fire & Fun!
Comprised of the San Antonio Glass Art Guild (SAGAG), Larry West Hot Glass, the Society of Artisan Lampworkers of San Antonio (S.A.L.S.A.) and Brothers of the Flame, Glass Alley is a Luminaria tradition.
Artists will create works of art throughout the evening with molten glass pulled from the furnace or melted with a torch. Spectators will see breathtaking displays of kiln-worked glass, blown glass and beads . The highly skilled Brothers of the Flame will perform lyrical, primal fire poi dancing with torches blazing.
The goal of Glass Alley is to enlighten, educate and entertain. San Antonio has a vibrant glass arts community; Luminaria allows a peek into this kaleidoscopic scene, and entreats you to join.
